FORSYTH SCHOOL, SURREY BC

Project Completed October 2015

$10,000 Donated

HAAF held a pub night fundraiser and raised $10,000 for the BC Surrey School District to support an after-school program called BLAST (Bring Learning to After School Time). This program ran three days a week at Forsyth Elementary School providing 62 children with educational and recreational activities.

BLAST at Forsyth Road Elementary is dynamic after school program. The program operated three days per
week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Each program day had its own select group of students that had been identified and registered for the specific program day, based on the theme alignment between the
student and their needs. Although each day had a different thematic focus, all sessions had core components that were carried out across the week: homework/tutoring support, snacks, and a small portion of unstructured physical activity time.
